I missed a day blogging!!!! I am seriously bummed...I had SUCH an awesome streak going! I tell you it's this last week of school stuff!! Right now I am up to my eyeballs in these...
I am outfitting a few weddings that are all taking place THIS month with bridal hair flowers, the bride, bridesmaids, mother of the bride, flower girls you name it. The pressure is ON!! But I love it!! :) I just wish I could see what it all looks like IN the wedding. I'll just be shipping the stuff off to MA, MI and a few other far away places and imagining what it all looks like. :)
When I'm not making flowers I am totally consumed with this...
I have exactly three days left until we hit summer. YIKES!!! I have been trying to develop a curriculum for the kids to keep them learning and having fun all summer. We're going to do unit studies...a different one each week that will explore things like the ocean and the creatures in it, the science of bubbles, insects, a week about America -the declaration of Independence and the symbols of our country, urban camping, and a few other things I'm forgetting right now!! :)
There are cool science experiments to go along with things like when we study oceans, we'll spend a day learning about whales. In order to teach the kids about blubber and how it works, we'll take a ziploc bag full of crisco (i know kind of gross) and then stick another clean bag down inside the crisco. We'll have the kids stick their hands in the clean bag completely surrounded by the crisco, then have them stick their hand in a bucket of ice water and see how well it insulates their hand compared to the hand that isn't in the crisco. Pretty cool, huh?
Would you like me to share some of these unit studies here if I can get them all together in time? Would that be something that any of you are interested in?? Just let me know and if there is any interest I'll TRY to do my best! :)
Have a great day!

Can I send my kids to you?! How fun!!!
Maybe we'll have to plan a trip during one of your cool experiments. My kids are doing an art camp this week... They LOVE that kind of stuff.
Happy Summer!

I would love it if you posted (or emailed me) some unit studies. I don't think I can keep Ashley's mind occupied enough. She is a sponge!
