There's no place like home...

Just got back from a wonderful week in Kansas, of all places.  My ENTIRE family went out there for thanksgiving and to be there for my cousins wedding on Saturday.  It was CRAZY but so much fun.  I've never been to that part of the country before and it was really pretty.  But, I have to say that I am a total city girl!  We drove from Kansas to Nauvoo, Il for the wedding and driving through that much farmland made me appreciate my good old urban sprawl back home! ;)  It is SO picturesque with all the barns and fields, I just needed to see a mall.  Pathetic, I know. :)  I did get some great shots of the kiddos having fun in the fields and with the leaves.  The sunsets were AMAZING!  We must have brought some warm weather with us becuase it was 65 practically every day we were there.  I guess that's really unusual for this time of year.  It was nice though, becuase then I didn't lok quite as crazy wearing my flip flops! :)  Here are a few pics.  Enjoy!!  :)

Trying the video thing again...

So, I uploaded a few more videos today.  I think they'll be fun to watch and hopefully teach you something in the meantime!!! ;)  A couple of them are technique based...inking, and paper tearing, and the third is how to make your own chipboard embellishments.  I LOVE making the chipboard!!  I love the look of those lil davis ones but it's fun to be able to create some that look JUST like them without spending all the money and to fit any theme you want!!  Here's a picture to see what they look like:

I had such a fun day yesterday!!  I had a shoot with a super cute family from our church with the most darling little girls!!  They are fun and spunky twins.  At first they were a little leary about having their pics taken, but once thy played at the park for awhile they totally forgot they camera was even there. 

These are my FAV types of shoots.  I'm not really a "studio portrait" kind of girl.  Especially not with little ones.  I TOTALLY prefer to just break out the zoom lens and follow them around totally in their element.  That just captures the essence of who they are at that age and I LOVE it!!  Those are they types of memories I want. :)  Here are a few fun shots that I love...

Another Loser...

Man, today was not a good day in the world of Tammy's design pursuits!!  There were two contests that I entered with mini albums and didn't get a thing from either one.  Bummer!  Oh well, there is SO much talent out there it is CRAZY!! 

On a happier note my good friend Amy DID get a call!! WooHoo!!  She is my total contest buddy...although I'm worried I might lose her now that she could become a big fancy designer...j/k Amy!!  :) 

So, now that they're not top secret anymore at least I can share my projects...that's really my favorite part about entering things is the challenge it gives me.   Here's the Halloween accordian album I made for the Junkitz Hit the Bookz contest:

Boxes, Boxes and more Boxes!

Well, it's that time of the month again!  I'm being crowded out of my house by USPS priority mail boxes.  :)  I spent hours yesterday getting things ready to go and have many more hours ahead of me. :)  It's fun to know that soon these kits will be headed to your houses so you can play!  I love that aspect of creating these kits.  It's so fun to see how one kit can be turned into so many fun and different projects.  I love that I sort of get to play a little part in you creating your memories.  SO, if you're a kit-a-holic, these will hit the PO on Friday...so you can start checking your mailboxes Monday...now wouldn't that be a nice way to start your week??  have a great day!!

Video killed the scrapbooker???

OK, so lame title...supposed to be sung to the tune of video killed the radio star..... ;)  LOL!!  I'm a geek!! :)

I'm really excited becuase today I made the first video ever for thescrapspot.com!!  so fun!  I'll admit I'm looking pretty shabby...I was SO excited I forgot that I hadn't done my hair or anything today..so yes, world...this is me.  Plain and simple! :)  I'll try and be a little more prepared next time. :) 

thescrapspot.com is my new baby.  it is just  a fun and informative site, with the possibility of being a great tool for scrapbookers...I just don't think they've realized it yet.  It has a FREE classifieds section.  Yep...that's right.  FREE!!  It works pretty much like ebay, you just list your stuff to sell and you can do it fixed price or auction.  You can leave feedback for those you do business with and everything.  I decided to start it becuase I have a TON of stuff that I could stand to get rid of...hey why not turn your old stash into cash??  I figured that with ebay raising their fees that sometimes it just doesn't pay to sell a $10 item on there when you're going to pay a ton of that in fees.  This way you can actually make some money! :) 

So, back to my original excitement...I made an online class video today making a fall thank you card and tag.  I think the projects are pretty cute and WAY simple.  I can see this being a really fun thing to do and I'll actually get to scrap for a change!! :)  If you want to to check it out here's the link:

It takes about 8 minutes to watch and make the projects.  Not bad for two things!! :)

I can't decide if I'm more excited about the video, or the fact that I actually figured out how to get it on the computer!!! HA!!

Cold Weather

Cold weather is something we don't get much of around here.  (thats WHY I live here!)  Later this month we're headed for the cold to visit some relatives.  I'm realizing now that I'm going to have to buy an entire wardrobe to go visit for a few days!  I don't own one pair of close toed shoes, one pair of long pants, a coat, mittens, ANYTHING!  I live in flip flops, capris and when it gets "cold"...a sweatshirt!  I'm in trouble! :)  Oh, well.  Shopping is definitely not a bad thing.  Especially when it gives me an excuse to buy this hat....

and it's got mittens to go with it!!  LOVE it!!  It's so funny being a scrapbooker.  becuase I take SO many pictures I seriously think I look at the world differently.  Everything I see or do, I can't help but think about the photos I'm going to take.  silly I know, but yes, I have been known to plan certain activities just for the photo op, or dress my kids in certain things to match a certain patterned paper.  I know I'm not alone! ;)

November Already!

This year has FLOWN by!  It seems like just yesterday that we were celebrating new years and I was anxiously awaiting the birth of our sweet little girl.  I can't believe how much can change in that time!!  Now it's almost her first holiday season and she's moving all over the place.  So crazy! 

We had a blast last night.  The kids were so excited they were running from house to house.  This neighborhood is SWARMING with kids and starting about 4:45 they come from all over.  It was SO busy about 5:45 that we literally couldn't even close our door.  Between all the parents, grandparents and kids we had nearly 50 people on our driveway and porch at once!!  I wish I had taken a picture of that! :)
