I promise I'll stop boring you with all of these pictures in a few days. :) I'm just having too much fun editing and reliving my trip. :)
One of my FAVORITE things about SF is the hustle and bustle. It is SO different from life here in the suburbs. Chinatown was just down the street from our hotel and I seriously felt like I was entering a different world every time I walked those few blocks. It was our first stop when we arrived around 5pm on Monday and the nightly routine was in full swing. I was amazed as I watched the streets and shops fill with people as they made their purchases of fruits and vegetables, fish and rice for the evening...just enough to carry home to their apartments, up several flights of stairs, so they could cook dinner for their families, fold the laundry that had been drying hanging from the fire escapes all day and turn in for the evening. As I watched moms with small children I was particularly amazed. Fighting through the streets (steep streets mind you!) and crowds with strollers AND their purchases, knowing that they probably lived in a building WITHOUT an elevator it made me feel like a REAL wimp... I was suddenly more grateful than ever for my local albertsons, a trunk that would hold a week's worth of groceries, and washer and dryer!!! City living is HARD!! :)
Have a great day!
