I was checking out one of my favorite blogs--twig and thistle and ran across these SUPER cute sparkler covers and matchbook covers. What a great idea for your guests and they're super easy to make so you can whip them up easily before Saturday!! There's even a template to print out to make it extra simple!

I was busy creating yesterday with a deadline that had come and gone...I had a SUPER FUN kit to work with this month from Coordinates Collections. The full kits are being revealed on the website today...but here's a sneak peek at some of the yummy things you can create with this kit:
SO for all you scrappers, here's one of my favorite easy tips to jazz up a layout with some glitter...take your diamond glaze with the needle nose tip and trace over some of the designs on the paper. If you want to use different colors, make sure that you only trace the ones you want to be red all at once then glitter, all blue at once then glitter etc. That helps to keep the glitter separate and easier to return the excess to your bottle. In the first layout I used this technique on a few of the words in red and green glitter, a few of the blue swirls and the orange around the three suns. It really makes a rather simple layout look like you spent hours! :)

I LOVE the 4th of July!!! It's right up there with Christmas and Halloween as far as I'm concerned. Something about all that red, white and blue just makes me happy. What can be better than fireworks, the warm summer night, amazing food and celebrating our beautiful and awe inspiring country. I thought I'd get you started thinking in that direction since we only have a week left to prepare!! Here are some fun images and ideas for you...
They sell these fun beverage containers everywhere these days. Homegoods, Costco, Crate and Barrel, you name it. Fill them with Fruit Punch, Sprite and Blue Kool Aid and you automatically have a fun and festive and practical centerpiece!
I'll do a little tutorial on how to make something similar to these fun decorations later this week. SO easy!!!

** Money saving tip** Think of what you have around the house...do you have a fun red, white and blue quilt that can substitute as a table cloth for the day??
a couple more fun table ideas rom social couture...you can find the red and white striped popcorn bags and boxes at your local Cost Plus World Market. Love the simple idea of strawberries in white buckets with ribbon tied around.
**Money Saving Tip** Make your own "white buckets" with some inexpensive terra cotta pots that you paint white with a 99cent bottle of acrylic paint.

In Orange County we aren't allowed to have backyards ;) but a girl can dream, right?
Does it get any cuter than that? I love the simplicity of it. Rattan mats for wall coverings, tree trunks for bedside tables, a couple of old palettes painted n a yummy shade of blue for the base of the daybed...all very DIY friendly. I love the idea that you can take a build it yourself shed from Lowe's or Home Depot and turn it in to something so beautiful. Who wouldn't want to come stay at you house??

ok, honest opinion...I seriously want to do this.............
to the walls in Ashley's room. She has white wainscotting up about 5 feet on the wall...and then the next 3 feet are about this color pink.....I'm seeing the text from Fancy Nancy written in black cursive like this all over the pink...what do you think??? i LOVE it. And, I was thinking if I wasn't brave enough to do the black, it would be cool to do the writing in either a slighty lighter version of the same pink, or the exact same color pink only in HIGH GLOSS so it would be this really cool tone on tone textured effect. Hmmmmmm......that combined with her little chandelier would be pretty cute!
And I'm totally doing this to my downstairs closet, I have been waiting like a YEAR for it to happen and I think it might actually happen soon! ;) lol!...
Isn't that the coolest???? They simply pasted the pages of old book on to the walls like wallpaper. Wouldn't that be a cool surprise when you opened the door?? LOVE it! I totally love a little pop of "wow" and the unexpected every now and then in a room.

Hey all you Etsy fans, if you have been eyeing something over there now may be the time to snatch it up! :) This weekend is the annual YART SALE on Etsy. What is a YART sale you may be asking??? Well, it's Etsy's equivalent of a Yard Sale. Since the stuff on Etsy is Art related all handmade and such they essentially took YARD+ART= YART! I think it's kind of cute actually!!

Sorry for making you wait a little longer that usual for today's post. :) we've been having a hectic week around here. all the "last few weeks of school" stuff makes you NEED a summer break so you can recover from the end of the year!!! lol!! :)
Why is it that all things French are SO incredibly beautiful and cool??? I just long to take a trip there strictly for photography and shopping purposes...museums, historical stuff...who cares!! Show me the shopping, restaurants and cool places to photograph!!! lol!! Just kidding...I do have a history degree, so I would be interested in that stuff too!!! :)

It must be the first of the month again because I actually scrapped!!! ;) If it wasn't for my gig with Coordinates I seriously don't think that I would ever force myself to sit down and create a page these days. I LOVE to do it, it's just getting harder and harder to find the time as the kids get older and I seem to get busier! :) Here are a few sneak peeks of the Caribbean Breeze kit. I have been SO bad about developing pictures lately since my neighborhood Ritz closed..I had to borrow a few of my neighbor's pictures that I took a little bit ago. :)
I LOVE to create these ribbon borders...especially when I have such fun ribbon to work with. They are super easy and I think add a really fun look to your page. Bestof all...they are SUPER easy!! Simply fold your ribbon over so that it creates a ruffle and staple it in place, then fold another ruffle and staple, another one...staple etc. You can let your staples show for a more rustic look like I did on the card, hide the staples underneath a picture like I did in the layout for a cleaner look, or, if you can't hide them with a page element but still want that cleaner look, simply hide them amongst the folds. This means you have to be a little more careful when you are creating your folds and pay more attention to where you are placing your staples, but it is still very easy. Give it a try!!
