I have a very laid back approach to photography. I love to capture the genuine, real smiles that come from a relaxed, fun atmosphere. I have always loved photographs. In my eyes the "perfect" portrait doesn't mean a creaseless shirt and stiff poses, but instead a twinkle in the eye and a glimpse into the soul. I want to capture who you and your children are at this moment. I believe that the best pictures are the ones where you forget that the camera is even there. Anyone can take a picture. I want to capture a moment and tell a story.
Your Session.
Sessions are very relaxed and will usually last thirty minutes to an hour. Your session will never be rushed and you and your child will never be pushed to pose or do something they don’t want to do. I prefer for them to just be themselves. Please feel free to bring any snacks that your children may need, as you may take breaks as needed to allow for bathroom breaks, feedings, and play.
Location.
The session will take place at a location of your choice. If you need some help with ideas for locations I have some favorites! Outdoor sessions are best scheduled in the late afternoon.
What to Wear.
Simple clothing will give your portraits a timeless feel and keep the focus on your child's face. I love color and the use of texture (knit sweaters, linen dresses, corduroy, scarves, hats, etc). Jeans or khakis are always a good choice for boys and simple sundresses are perfect for little girls. When photographing more than one person, keeping the clothing similar in color, tone and style is best. If there is a special outfit you would like to bring along please do. I recommend that you bring several outfits with you and we can change things up a bit for different pictures.
After the Session.
Approximately two weeks after your session your proofs will be available for viewing in an online gallery. When your gallery becomes available we will email you. There will be approximately 20-30 images to choose from. Your online gallery will remain active for ten days. Please be prepared to place your order within that time. The online gallery is a great way to share your portraits with far away friends and family.
Full payment is due at the time of your order by check. Please make checks payable to "Tammy Mitchell." Your portraits will be ready two to three weeks after payment has been received.

A shoot either at your home or at a location of our choosing. Right now I work mainly in South Orange County with occasional dates available in San Diego, Arizona and Utah. (contact me for travel dates.)
Session fees are due at the time of the shoot.

An online slideshow posted approximately two weeks after your session takes place.
