Confession Time

Oh, I can't believe that 2008 is upon us!!!  I haven't accomplished hardly anything this year it feels like.  and I'm afraid that trend might continue.  ;)  I've found a new hobby....it's true.  And I'm afriad that the amount of time it requires to become an expert at it might keep me from scrapping EVER again.  I know, say it isn't true....

So, which hobby is now consuming ALL of my time you might be wondering....well...

Yep, that's right.  I'm an addict.  :)  I can now have the HOTTEST dance party right in my living room whenver I want. :)  lol!!! 

Now you know how I'll be ringing in the new year!! :)

I've been mulling over a fun idea for those christmas cards that no one wants to thrown away...stay tuned!!!  When things quiet down around here I'll be sure to share!!! :)  how's that for a teaser??? lol!

Making Memories

for once I'm not talking about the products!! :)  lol!!  I was feeling a little sad the other day becuase I just feel like I haven't scrapped for SO long.  Sometimes I get in a funk when I feel like I need to do something creative and just don't have the time.  Am I the only one that gets like that???  ;)   

Well, this morning I came downstairs to find this on the couch:

they were all snuggled together watching little einsteins.  Oh!!  I needed that moment!!  It reminded me that even though I haven't been able to create memories on paper I've been busy making these kinds of memories for my kids the last few weeks.  What a good reminder!  Sometimes I get so caught up in the scrapping I forget to actually enjoy the moment while I'm living it! 

I hope that this holiday season you are able to make lots of these kinds of memories with your families.  We can always scrap them later, right?? :)

Fun Christmas Place card or Photo Holder Idea

I love finding new uses for my scrapping supplies!!  I made these over the weekend and thought I'd share.

We had a Christmas party at church this weekend that I was helping to put together.  We were assigning people to tables for dinner and needed a cute way to number the tables so people could figure out where they were supposed to sit so I came up with this:

Ok, so the number could be stamped better I know, but I had to make 22 of these babies over night so they weren't quite up to par. :) 

I thought they would be a fun way to hold photos or christmas cards or place cards for a table too, and they're super easy to make. 

You will need:

a glue gun

salt

christmas ball ornaments

shaped scrapping clips

wire

paper

glitter

glue ( i used tacky glue)

number stamps

All you need to do is put four dots of glue on the bottom of the ornament so that it will stand up on it's own (if it's still not very stable that's where the salt comes in.  Fill that baby with some salt and it will stand up!! )

While those are drying stamp your numbers in glue onto the squares of cardstock you've cut out and glitter them.

Once the glue on the bottom of the ornaments is dry take a shaped clip, some wire and an ornament and wire the clip securely to the little loop on the ornament where you would usually stick a hanger to put it on your tree.

Once your numbers are dry you can put the card in the clip and wa-la!!  Homemade table place cards with a Christmas flair! :)

More from Ever After

If you ever get the chance to attend one of Teresa's classes you have got to go!!!  It was SO much fun.  This was an all day workshop with stamping stations, glittering stations all kinds of fun stuff!!  The ladies were SO wonderful and the store...WOW!!!  t had been awhile since I had made the trip down there and boy are things different!!!  They have moved into a HUGE space and do they know how to throw a party!!!  Here's a fun group shot:

I didn't crop much of the background here becuase I wanted you to be able to see how massive and packed with awesome stuff this place is!

Thanks Dannelle!!!  It was so great to meet you and get to chat!! :)  That is seriously one of the coolest thing about scrapbooking.  You get to meet people from all over the place that share your passion and you instantly feel like you have a connection. :)

Just to give you a little idea of just how BIG of a deal this workshop was...they had 2, yep you read that right...TWO news crews come and film it and interview Teresa while we were there

I got to take pictures of everyone in the class so that they could have a record of them.  I don't know about you guys but I am so bad about getting out from behind the camera.  So, we wanted everyone to get a shot of themselves.  Here are a few I've started on.....such cute girls!!

Believe it or not, the only empty wall space in the whole place was this cinderblock wall next to the bathroom....so I had to try and make it look cool.  You'd never know I was practically standing in a stall to take these, huh?? ;)

Ever After Workshop

Whew!!!  It took me a day to recover from this one.  Sorry for not posting earlier.  :)  I think my nerves got the best of me and I was just SO tired yesterday!! It was SO much fun!!!  I had a blast meeting all the gals and seeing what beautiful projects they were all creating!  Had the chance to look through some amazing projects that GEMM had made....wow!!  And she's only been scrapping a year SUPER hard to believe.   I met some GREAT people and it was fun to see the following that Teresa has.  Like Katie who had flown in from Colorado to take the class....WOW!!!  Now that's dedication!!  :) I hope you're having fun playing with your 50mm Katie!! ;) 

I even got to meet some fun girls from up my way so I hope to get together with them again soon. :)  Hi girls!!! :) 

Here's a picture of me and Teresa from the class...thanks Cheryl for sending this to me!!  :)  You think I'd be better about getting one of these with my own camera, but sometimes I just get so busy doing other stuff I forget about the fun stuff!! :) 

I just want to say a big "THANK YOU!!!" to Teresa for inviting me to do this.  I had such a blast and it was SO good to help me break out of my shell a little.  :)  I hope I was able to add a little something. :)

taking notes

are you ready to take 'em?   :)  Saturday is the big day.  I've come up with a little bit about your photos and we'll discuss documenting yourself!!!  A few tips to help make your photos better and give you even more fun pics to scrap!

So, I couldn't help but make a little note book for each student to take notes in.  If you're taking the class...here's what you'll be getting. :)  If you're not...here's something fun you can make using the new collage press grayson line...

The cards are their new journaling cards and so is the tag.  It is SO cool!!!  It comes as a sheet of paper with 8 different "tags" on it and you cut them out and do whatever you want with them!  Each booklet also has 2 sample pictures one with bad composition and one that's good so you can see the difference.

these babies are SUPER hard to find.  If you were lucky enough to get into the class then you'll have one of the hottest items on the market.  I noticed in the pottery barn catalog the other day that they sell one almost identical to it.  You can find it here.  It is a little more expensive...I think about $20, but this one comes with 265 cards.  I'm pretty sure that the 7 gypsies one only comes with a few things and you have to order extra cards.  Just a thought if you're desperate to have one cause the 7 gypsies ones are HARD to find!

A little Christmas cheer

from our house to yours...

can you tell I got a new toy??? :)  I bought a new "merry christmas to me" toy yesterday.  something i've been wanting for a LONG time.  a 50mm 1.4 lens woohoo!!!  so excited about the blur factor!! :)  i'm still getting used to using it.  i keep forgetting that I'M the zoom!!  lol!! 

Sorry I've been such a slacker lately!!  I'm busy working on some fun things for the class I'm teaching on Saturday with Teresa Collins in San Diego.  There will be a little fun thing for all the students to take home.  I'll share when I get them all done!! :)
