It's here folks!! The Christmas rush is officially on!!! I LOVE the hustle and bustle of this time of year. So, you're trying to think of something fun to give your friend or neighbor for the annual gift exchange?? Here's a fun idea. It took me all of about 45 minutes to complete. Can't beat that!! I know I have mentioned it several times before, but I have a deep love for Homegoods, yep deep, undying love. It's where I spend most of my cash. I can browse the aisles for hours. As a matter of fact last Saturday they had to escort me out. I closed the place down. ;)
One of my favorite things to do is check out the clearance asile for unloved items that can be transformed into something new and loved again. :) A few months ago I spotted this cute little library card set. The cards themselves weren't anything fancy, but the box they came in was so cute I just knew I had to do something with it. I wasn't sure what, but knew I could think of something. I think it found it's calling:
I turned it in to a box of assorted homemade gift tags. There are tags with ribbons, regular tags and some little cards with envelopes. Also included are a date stamp (i think it's fun to date cards so that if you save them you can remember when you received it) a small ink pad and a nice black pen. What do you think??? Wouldn't that make a great gift for a neighbor or friend?? All the tags they need for their gift wrapping this season??
I LOVE to wrap gifts and so a little handmade touch like this would really jazz them up. It was SO EASY!!! What really made it so easy was the "tis the season" line from ms. Teresa Collins. It is so cute. The pre-made tags are all on ONE sheet of paper, you just cut them out. The ribbon tags I made by just tracing a tag shape onto her cute papers (8x8 and 12x12 find them here) , the cards I just used her pre-made and already die-cut cards, and her cute stamp is on the front of the green card. I LOVE it when it is so easy to make something so cute and fun looking. I seriously just cut some stuff up and that was IT!!
These cards measure about 3x2...I found the envelopes at a floral supply store
the contents minus the pen, ink pad and stamp......
Once everything was neatly tucked inside I slid the lid on, tied it up with some ribbon and added a handmade tag on the outside. :)
Now who wouldn't want that??? ;)
So search the clearance aisles of your local stores and see what you can create! :)
Have a great day!!

So, I finally took a stab at it....a CLEAR ALUBM!!! I have been staring at it for what seems like months now...afraid to ruin it. Not quite sure how to make everything look "good" when you can see from one page to another. Not sure how to make my adhesive seem "invisible." So after not scrapping for literally weeks, I decided to jump back in with both feet and do the album! :)
The sweet gals Christy and Ali over at Midnight Oil Scrapbook Designs sent me a couple of AWESOME albums to play with and boy did I have fun!!! I love these albums for a few reasons... They come in a variety of sizes, you can mix and match the pages from different album sets to create just the look you want and #3...the most important...they are WAY less expensive than the other clear albums out there!!!! I don't know how they do it but I really appreciate that!!! If you are looking to try a clear album but don't want to go broke doing it I really think you should give these a try!! I looked around a little to see where you can find them and it looks like you can find an accordian album here, and a stepped album here . This is a fun idea if you are a little afraid of making the whole thing clear and only $5.99!!! Wouldn't this be a fun gift idea for a valentine or someone?? Ok, so enough raving about these!! Have I convinced you to give them a try???
WANT TO WIN ONE???? I love to know how people find this blog! I think it's so fun!! Leave me a comment and let me know how you found me and I'll pick a winner on Thursday and mail you your very own clear album to play with!
Now.....Let me show you what I made!
I used mostly MM noteworthy papers and buttons, AC thickers, MM Baby clear defined stickers, May Arts ribbon, lots of heidi bling, and a few other little things from hambly, fancy pants, sassafras lass and prima.
a little tag I threw in for some journaling...
these great wood dimesional hearts are something i've had laying around for years and now finally the perfect thing to use them on!! :)
Have a GREAT Monday!!

I love finding new uses for my scrapping supplies!! I made these over the weekend and thought I'd share.
We had a Christmas party at church this weekend that I was helping to put together. We were assigning people to tables for dinner and needed a cute way to number the tables so people could figure out where they were supposed to sit so I came up with this:
Ok, so the number could be stamped better I know, but I had to make 22 of these babies over night so they weren't quite up to par. :)
I thought they would be a fun way to hold photos or christmas cards or place cards for a table too, and they're super easy to make.
You will need:
a glue gun
salt
christmas ball ornaments
shaped scrapping clips
wire
paper
glitter
glue ( i used tacky glue)
number stamps
All you need to do is put four dots of glue on the bottom of the ornament so that it will stand up on it's own (if it's still not very stable that's where the salt comes in. Fill that baby with some salt and it will stand up!! )
While those are drying stamp your numbers in glue onto the squares of cardstock you've cut out and glitter them.
Once the glue on the bottom of the ornaments is dry take a shaped clip, some wire and an ornament and wire the clip securely to the little loop on the ornament where you would usually stick a hanger to put it on your tree.
Once your numbers are dry you can put the card in the clip and wa-la!! Homemade table place cards with a Christmas flair! :)
Have fun making them!! :)

I wanted to give a little inspiration for this weeks challenge and pose a question:
Are you being challenged???
I started these challenges a few months back hoping to inspire you to scrap at least one new layout a week and to try some new things. BUT, as these silly little blog things go, I can't really see if it's helping anyone. So, I'd like to know....
Who's out there???? :) Are you interested in seeing the weekly challenge continue? Leave me a comment and let me know if you would. Also, what would you like to see???
Thanks for the input! I want to make this as fun and informative as possible. The best way for me to make that happen is for you to speak up!! lol!! :)
And now for a little stitching idea.... I hope you can see this!! I make my own background by simply cutting out black circles and stitching them with my machine onto the blue cardstock. :)
Have a great day!!

So here it is. The layout that helped me get my "groove" back. :)
Sorry it's a little crooked...again! I've got to get that figured out! :)
This is my all time favorite color combo for girls....black, creme, light pink and light green. I just think it's so stunning. I could work in these colors all day.
I think I'm going back to 8.5x11. LOVE that size. Something about the way the page comes together.
Thanks for looking!
Have a great day!

Every Thursday we scrap at my house. It is so fun. A bunch of moms all excited to get out of the house for an evening...even if we are just hanging out in my garage and all hudled around our baby monitors so that we can run at the first signs of screams. (yes, the houses in my neighborhood are that close together that we can get reception! :) ) We started out small, just three of us and seem to be doubling every week! :) SO fun! I love getting together with fun friends that share this great hobby. Needless to say Idon't usually accomplish much becuase of all of the funny chatter going on, but I try and get at least one simple page done. here's my page from last Thursday night:
ok, a little crooked and one of the tags is falling down but you get the idea. :) And for those of you wondering....yes, I did buy that chair strictly for a prop. :) I am a true scrapper! :)
Have a great day!

Ok, so I've seen it done. I've read the books. I've checked out the blogs. And now I tried it. NOw I know that it just wasn't meant to be. Me and freestyle that is.
Here is my feeble attempt at one of the latest crazes...granted the colors aren't that fantastic, in real life they look so much brighter and fun, so cut me some slack there ok? :)
All hail to Elsie and those that can pull off this cool look. I am not ashamed to admit defeat and go on with my "clean shabby" style. At least I gave it a shot, right? :)
Have a great day!
